IT for 12th scale Sewing Machine

The painted sewing machine is an example of what the kit will look like when painted.

I was brought up with a sewing machine - my first one not too disimilar to this one. I was about 7 and living in Norfolk. I remember thinking what fun it was spinning the wheel as fast as I could only to end up crushing my finger in the spoke!

The sewing machine is very easy to assemble. It has a little spool winding addition which you glue to the front of the machine. I have to admit the machine is not exactly the same as the original. Any machinists will instantly recognise the flaws! If you want to add a spool of cotton thread to the top you would need to glue it on or you could drill and small hole in the metal and glue in a small pin.

The machine is cast with a little machine foot and needle - some of the images are missing them as I was a little heavy handed with my file.

An iconic kitchen item designed for baking your bread. When the loaf is removed the bread would have had the impression of the word Hovis in the side of the bread!

The tins are created with the same font and design as the original with a small curled edge to the top of the tin to allow the bread to rise and flow over the edges.

A step away from my usual 18th century offerings is this rather lovely victorian camera. It comes in 4 sections but does not include a base. It would look wonderful in an office where maybe the occupier has a pile of old film and some photographs ready for framing or filing. I always feel that these types of item lend themselves to story telling. Not only can you indulge your love of all things mini but by adding such items to a room you begin to create a wonderful story. Who owns it? Why do they own it? What do sort of photography do they take? Ideas and imagination are endless and so much fun.

Pair of Fire Dogs

Pair of French firedogs. These are highly detailed and decorative metal cast 12th scale firedogs created to guard the fire. Each cherub faces inward and there is a left and a right in each pair. There is no longer a central length.


The fire dogs are unpainted and made from either resin or metal.

Icons of the 19th century these magnificent shopping tills are simply wonderful. The miniature kit comes in 3 sections and is very easy to assemble. I do not supply any paper "price" tickets or clear glass for the non digital readout! The casting of the tiny little keys is incredibly complex and occassional one or two might need to be gently bent back into position.

We hebben gekozen voor borden zoals je die vroeger bij echt oude winkels zag. Je kunt echter zelf tekst toevoegen aan de blanco borden, geheel naar wens.
De borden met één steun zijn 5 cm breed, en die met twee steunen zijn 9 cm breed. De borden zijn uitgesneden uit 2 mm MDF en zijn heel eenvoudig in elkaar te zetten.

The little kitchen scale would be ideal in a messy kitchen table scheme. It comes in 4 sections, the large base, the star shaped dish supports, the dial face (not the dial) and the dish. To create a glass face try using doming resin. It's incredible stuff. Simply mix the two parts together 1:2 and then using a cocktail stick drip it onto the dial face...the beauty is that it remains raised like a dome...it's very realistic. These beautiful little salt and pepper pots are part of the Antique Provence range and come unfinished in dull pewter.

The pewter can be polished or painted. If painting please apply a thin layer of metal primer. This will help the coat of paint adhere to the surface.

Sold in kit form these wonderful ceiling candelabras are stunning and would certainly make a statement in any 18th century or later room. In particular if you have a long thin room with a statementdining table then two at either end would be superb.

These are not electrified but the candle holders have been designed to accept a small candle bulb and therefore with a little bit of effort and time these could be electified.

12th scale Spiral staircase kit.

This simply beautiful spiral staircase is copied from a Polish original found in an abandoned house. This is the same staircase that we (Mini Vintage) have used in our Old Mill prototype. In the old Mill we use a 'Bottom Section' + 14 'Step Kits' as described below. This product as available on the Mini Vintage site is sold as 'one kit' suitable for use in the 'the Old Mill'. Each step has stunning filligree and comes with a beautiful bannister post and rail.

The bottom step is slightly different to the other steps as it has a little base finial to finish it off.

The staircase is sold in "steps" with a bottom step option.

Each step measures approx. 15.25mm high x 37mm deep x 68mm wide

The Upright posts are approx. 81mm high with the handrail adding another 2mm to the height.

Construction

This is a slightly harder kit to construct as it has to be supported during the build.

You will need superglue and a superglue activator (this simply sets the glue instantly and makes the whole job easier).

Always start with the bottom step but it can be constructed outside of the dolls house and then inserted when finished. Your only issue might be that you wont be able to secure the central rod into the floor and the ceiling. Ideally the floor would be added after the stairs are in position.

19th Century Radiator Kits ~ UNPAINTED 12th scale

This very pretty and realistic radiator is designed so that you can create any desired width. Each panel is about 0.8cm or 0.34" wide x 6.7cm or 2.64" high. You will need two end panels sold as a kit and then somple add the central sections. Width options are available in the dropdown menu or you can choose your own quanities.

The little tap and valves and joining pegs are all seperate making this a truly fun kit to assemble. It is easy too!

12th scale French Canopy Bed Kit

The real lifesize 18th century French Canopy bed or "lit à baldaquin" can be found

The bed is an almost exact copy of the Museum piece. The instructions for my 12th scale version can be found in this listing. It is truly something that you can bring to life and certainly a statement item of furniture in any dollshouse but equally would look fabulous under a glass dome!

As a contrast to my normal work I have created my sample in need of a make over...maybe the addition of some gold leaf and reupholstery is required? The bed would look fabulous guilded and draped in silk damask or maybe a pretty floral 18th century silk. The design lends itself to both opulent and Swedish Gustavian.



The bed is supplied as a kit and is relatively easy to construct but the upholstery has to be part of the process. The bed ends and the bottom of the bed all require covering in Fabric and will need to be done after it has been painted and before fully constructed.

Mum had these! And some of us will still own them although nonstick may have taken over!

The baking tray for small cakes is ideal if you are wanting to produce fairy cakes or maybe madeleines

Adorned with flowers and leaves in the prettiest of patterns wth a little bird (possibly a sparrow) resting on a tiny branch on the lid. The sparrow is of course the handle for the lid and the sidehandles are twisted branches.
